Home hopes alive in Quarterfinals at Mozart Open men
After a tense second round match of local favourite Aqeel Rehman (WRL 124), the 19-times Austrian Champion progressed into the Quarterfinal. A noisy crowd supported the Salzburg born an raised player who had to play with a turban after suffering a cut by his opponent.
Most of the remaining matches were also very tight with Heston Malik (ENG, WRL 246) causing the biggest upset by beating second seed of the tournament Elijah Thomas (NZL, WRL 117) 3/2 after already being 0/2 down!
The Quarterfinals start today at 15:30 at EUROPARK Salzburg.
