Mozart Open man: busy day at EUROPARK shopping mall
A total of eight matches of the Mozart Open men PSA world ranking tournament were scheduled on the glasscourt at EUROPARK Salzburg shopping mall today. The action kicked off at 12 noon.
The spectators saw some entertaining and intense matches and was astonished by the athletics and quality of shots by the players. Indeed there were very close games, but eventually most of the seeded players had the better ending and went through to the second round.
As Austrian Lukas Windischberger (WRL 303) lost his opening match, 18-times Austrian National Champion and Organiser Aqeel Rehman (WRL 119) will be the only local player left in the tournament. The topseed Salzburg born and based had a bye in the first round will face Laszlo Godde (FRA, WRL 206) in the second round on Wednesday 18:30.
There are another eight matches scheduled on Wednesday with all the top 8 players joining the action as well after their byes in the first round.
